Total equipment productivity management and engineering is enterprise-wide task. Machine work design is an important component of this task. TPM is taking care of maintenance aspect of equipment. Industrial engineers have to take care of work aspect of equipment during operations and redesign as needed. Process designers take care of it during the initial design stage. Production managers have to see that standard operating procedures are followed and also contribute their suggestions and involve operators and supervisory staff under them to contribute ideas for improvement.
