Spirit of Learning
Luis J. Rodriguez believes that the spirit of learning is not nurtured or encouraged in schools because the spirit of teaching is absent.
It's about Nemachtilli-the energies, powers, and spirits intrinsic to all learning and all teaching. It's about loving to teach and loving to learn.
It is the spirit of a teacher that governs a school. In one room is disorder, a spirit of idleness and sometimes defiance, carelessness and contempt for all that is pure and good and noble in school life—loose paper, marred desks, paper wads, marked walls—you know the signs. The teacher among her personal friends and intimate acquaintances speaks always in contempt of the pupils, calling them her "mean kids," "hateful little imps," "despisable brats," etc.
The pupils of another room—and often the same pupils under another teacher—are quiet, orderly, obedient, respectful and studious. She is quiet, bright, cheerful, cheery, orderly, serious, natural, and has confidence in her pupils. She speaks kindly and affectionately of her boys and girls, neither thinking them faultless nor lauding them to the skies. Her every act is an inspiration to her pupils. She plans her work, she works to her plans, and the pupils both consciously and unconsciously imitate her. She shapes the lives and destinies of her pupils for the better.
The spirit of the teacher shows itself in the intellectual attitude of the pupils. The teacher should be a living fountain, not a stagnant pool.

The crux of the divine scheme is that man should apply his reason and common sense, and follow his conscience; he should discover the laws of nature and study the divine scriptures revealed to the prophets. He should find out his purpose in life and God Almighty’s design regarding his creation. After taking into account all these facts, he should plan and build his future.
The most important tool in the process of the application of reasoning, discovering laws of nature and finding out one’s purpose in life and in persevering in the goals, is learning.
Spirit of Skilling - Acquiring Skill - Doing Repeatedly and Developing the Capability to do it Better after Each Attempt
God gives people their skills and talents. He gives them a “spirit of skill” and he expects it to be used for his glory and according to his very specific instructions.
God chooses who will be the prophet.
God chooses who will be the priest.
God chooses who will have trade skills. God chooses who will be given a spirit of skill.
Prophets are not better than priests. Prophets are just people chosen by God to be prophets. Priests are not better than the people they serve because they are called to teach, preach, and counsel others. Priests are just people chosen by God to be priests. And, finally, skilled workers who make and do jobs of trade with excellence are not unspiritual or unused of God simply because they are preaching, teaching, or prophesying like prophets and priests are doing. Skilled workers who make and do jobs of trade are filled with a spirit of skill, according to Exodus 28:3, and are therefore just as spiritual and used of God when they act upon their calling as prophets and priests.
