A complete assembly plan includes a set of instructions describing the sequence of operations,
joining methods and materials, tooling, fixturing and relevant quality assurance procedures.
Methodology
To identify assembly operations an experiment was performed according to the following
methodology:
1. Component CAD models - these must have the dimensions and tolerances similar to the actual component, i.e. a gear pump in this case (Figure 4).
2. Perform the assembly of the component in the virtual environment.
3. Identify assembly procedures from the logged data.
4. Perform assembly of the physical gear pump.
5. Compare and correlate information obtained during virtual assembly and physical assembly.

Fully Automated Production and Assembly System for Subframes
FANUC America Corporation, 11 Mar 2022
This system for subframes was designed by SW Automation for a German customer. The production line features eight horizontal CNC machining centers: five BA W08-12 machines for OP10 and three BA W06-22 machines for OP20. Two FANUC robots move along a gantry to load and unload the large and heavy workpieces from the machines, increasing efficiency and decreasing labor demands. Overhead automation solutions are ideal for saving floor space and maintaining machine accessibility without safety barriers. With the dual-table design of SW machines, automated loading and unloading can be performed in parallel to machining of parts inside the machine.
Additional modules within this system include two laser stations, a conveyor system, a washer, and a press station. As a single-source provider, SW can design, manufacture, and commission complete manufacturing systems. From machines to automation, fixtures, tooling, and integration of third-party stations – SW ensures that all of your equipment is integrated seamlessly together.
