Industrial engineering is improvement in various elements of engineering operations to increase productivity. Along with engineering elements, industrial engineers evaluate and improve many other elements also as they are responsible for productivity and cost of items produced in a process. Productivity improvement always focuses on quality and flexibility issues as productivity improvement should not lead to any deterioration in quality or flexibility. Delivery and cost are always at the core of industrial engineering. Thus when QFCD paradigm came, that is attention to quality, flexibility, cost and delivery became prominent, many industrial engineers were given the responsibility of managing this function of continuous improvement.

You will monitor and redesign organizational processes to make them more efficient.

* Lead Activities: Coordinate and lead key projects for improvement across all levels of the organization. Oversee several teams indirectly and collaborate with managers & process owners to redesign processes and present proposals to the leadership team.
* Monitor Progress: Monitor progress in to validate if changes have returned valuable results. Establish adequate metrics at the start of a project and compare actual project results against these, regularly generating detailed update reports for the leadership team.
* Provide Mentorship: Coordinate workshops and team trainings, openly sharing their guidance and technical expertise across departments and divisions, ensuring that learning resources are available and fellow associates make continuous improvement an integral part of its culture.

Novartis Operational Standards for Supply Chain Excellence (NOSSCE).
Novartis leaders approved a transformation project that would improve operating efficiency and enable higher levels of service from supply chain. The primary program goals were to ensure availability of medicines for patients and maximize business success. APICS Certified in Production and Inventory Management (CPIM) education was used as the basis. This initiative was so successful that it was recognized with the 2018 APICS Award of Excellence — Transformation.CPIM courses were taught to reinforce learning and education on-site.
