Rear Admiral Takuo Godo - Productivity Promoter in Japan

In 1924, Rear Admiral Takuo Godo the Superitendent of Kure Navy Yard, summarized the status of efficiency in various societies in Osaka Efficiency Exhibition. He pointed that at that time, average British steel worker was 5.3 time and US worker 7 times more productive than a Japanese worker. He advocated that scientific management has to be implemented as fast as possible in Japan to bridge the productivity gap.
