Industrial Engineering 4.0 - Making Connected Engineering Systems More Productive

Industrial Engineering 4.0  was proposed as a parallel development in Industrial Engineering to take care of productivity of  engineering (production) systems in the era of Industry 4.0 Technology Set by Prof. K.V.S.S. Narayana Rao (Professor, National Institute of Industrial Engineering). Subsequent to the development of the idea, the Google search revealed that the term was already coined and used in Germany in 2016. But the digital content available on the topic has not provided enough explanation of Industrial Engineering 4.0. A project was initiated by Prof. Rao to elaborate the subject content of Industrial Engineering 4.0. The prime objective of Industrial Engineering 4.0 is to make connected engineering systems more productive.

Lecture event of the Friends of Industry 4.0

On Tuesday, 28. November 2017, at 19:30 clock we would like to cordially invite you to a lecture by Prof. Dr.-Ing. Jürgen Köbler, Professor of Industrial Production Technology, Digital Factory, Production Organization and Production Planning at the Faculty of Business Administration and Industrial Engineering of the University of Applied Sciences Offenburg invite to the Aula of the Gewerbliche Schule Lahr.

Companies have to constantly increase their productivity due to high competitive pressure. One area that is constantly increasing is industrial engineering. Especially in the course of digitization and networking of corporate processes, the lecture sheds light on how Industry 4.0 affects industrial engineering. The approach is to design an Industrial Engineering 4.0 that combines the advances of Industry 4.0 and the digital factory. In detail, the visions and basic requirements of Industrie 4.0, the change to product-oriented production planning and the gradual networking in the company are presented. Furthermore, Prof. Köbler talks about model platforms of Industry 4.0, new ways of information-driven production and the transformation from a conventional to a digital production company.
