Over the past ten years, electronic product designs have gradually shifted from an analog to a digital emphasis. The impact of this shift has been significant. It has changed both the way products are designed and the tools used to design them. Specifically, logic analysis has become one of the most effective tools for digital design. As logic analyzers evolved, designers became more familiar with their use and more productive when using them. It is this concept of higher productivity that forms the basis for this discussion of the logic analyzer evolution and the role it has played in increasing designer productivity and efficiency.
