Job Summary/Overview:

Samsung Austin Semiconductor is seeking a talented and motivated individual for the Production Operations Team. We are looking for an engineer to tackle complex problems that span across multiple systems and organizations. They will own products and be expected to make appropriate tradeoffs between business and technical constraints to ensure on time delivery to the customer. They engineer will serve as the primary resource to monitor, analyze, and improve manufacturing metrics for their assigned products.

Specific Job Duties:

As a Production Ops Engineer, you will use knowledge of proprietary Samsung scheduling and reporting systems as well as Manufacturing knowledge to improve factory bottlenecks through detailed analysis and use project management skills to drive on time projects. 
As a Production Ops Engineer, you will work closely with manufacturing operations, systems technology and engineering personnel from Unit Parts to find inefficiencies, create and drive improvement projects, and support daily operations.  
Professionalism, good judgement, negotiation skills, team leadership, ability to influence, analytical talent, teamwork and communication are essential to success.
 This position is right for you if you are passionate about solving complex manufacturing problems, and have a desire to consistently learn.
Perform line analysis and supply chain forecasting to be able to pinpoint bottleneck areas and take actions to help improve line movement and line balance.
Perform bottleneck investigations utilizing existing productions plans, tool performance metrics, and existing capacity projects and create summaries of problem areas.
Coordinate daily factory needs with Global Operations Center and take actions to meet daily customer shipment requirements.
Negotiate product shipment requirements with Global Operations Center.
Coordinate with systems technology and engineering groups to make output improvements using available scheduling systems as well as analyze data to show the benefit of any action taken.
Work with engineering teams to improve daily operations and optimize tool performance.
Collaborate with manufacturing shift operations and follow-up on issues to resolution.
Identify areas of improvement within manufacturing and systems.
Participate in resolution of urgent production issues as they occur.
Support process change control board (engineering changes) through analysis and approval.
Effectively communicate up, down and across the organization to align manufacturing, production planning, and engineering regarding product performance and supply forecasts.
Analyzes factory capacity limiters to identify capital investment issues or equipment qualification needs.
Product Ownership.


Shift: 1st shift, Mon- Fri, 8am- 5pm.

Skills and Qualifications:

B.S. in Industrial Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering and other related Engineering or Applied Mathematics Major will be considered.
5-year minimum experience with demonstrated success in inventory analysis, production control, capacity planning, lean manufacturing, six sigma, or project management.
Semiconductor manufacturing experience preferred.
PMP or Lean Six Sigma Certification preferred.
Knowledge of Line Metrics – OEE, Rundown, Equipment Efficiency, UPEH, APT, TAT, Queueing Theory.
Experience with Fab automation and reporting systems.
Demonstrated experience with applied lean manufacturing principles.
Experience in manufacturing sciences (Theory of Constraints, Lean Manufacturing, Capacity Planning, and Flow Optimization).
Quick leaner with the ability to handle multiple task simultaneously, maintain focus, and adapt to a variety of challenges.
Good communication skills with internal and external customers.
Excellent organizational skills, ability to assess situations and set priorities.
Critical thinker and problem-solving skills.
Strong critical thinking skills; recognize third and fourth order effects of a catalyst event.
Experience with SQL, Spotfire or other analytics tools a plus.
Experience with collaborative & project tracking software (JIRA, Confluence) a plus.

• Perform monitoring for FOUP and photo resistant inventory and usage analysis. Work closely with engineer team, AMHS team, and finance team to solve the issues for inventory discrepancy.

• Control the life cycle for FOUPs, from purchase planning, budget allocation, inventory optimization, SN control to termination End of Life.
• Effectively communicate across the organization to align manufacturing shift, production planning, and engineering teams.
• Lead cross functional teams (Systems development Engineering, Photo engineer, MFG shift and Shipping logistics) to improve the operational process to meet production requirements.
• Conduct data analysis to provide forecast to all levels of the organization
• Drive improvement projects to increase the FOUP utilization.
• Create SOP and provide training and control strategy to manufacturing shifts.
• Perform inventory audit for photo resistant twice a year with accounting team.
• Perform shipping control setting in system, work with logistics team to optimize the shipment scheduling
