Job Description
 
General Summary
Drive process improvements throughout the plant and Supply Chain to support key strategic initiatives. Utilize Lean Six Sigma methodology to increase productivity, reliability, and reduce losses. This position will perform business analysis to identify, generate, develop, and execute medium to long term opportunities. This position will also be the process owner of Zero Loss Analysis and Value Stream Mapping activities at the plant.
 
Principal Accountabilities
25% - Identify and execute Continuous Improvement projects aligned to key business priorities
15% - Identify and deploy Lean Six Sigma best practices within the plant. Utilize Benchmarking.
15% - Support TPM process implementation across the plant (DDS, Centerlining, SMED, 5S)
5% - Coordinate Zero Loss Analysis events
5% - Perform and lead Value Stream Mapping efforts
5% - Enabler development and management
5% - Expand Zarpac usage to insure effectiveness at all levels of the organization
25%- Champion for improvement - capacity utilization, bottleneck analysis, loss analysis, capability studies, capital project justifications, Data collection and reporting, etc.
 
Job Complexity

1. Perform business analysis using tools such as Zero Loss Analysis and Value Stream Mapping.
2. Develop a manufacturing/scheduling strategy to optimize cost and reliability.
3. Process owner for implementation of Soup Common Platform initiatives in the plant.
4. Develop, track, and manage Enabler saving projects.
5. Support TPM initiatives including DDS, 5S, Centerline, and SMED.

Job Specifications
Minimum education required: BS Degree in related field.
Education desired: MBA
 
Knowledge, skills and abilities required:
 
Certified Six Sigma Black Belt preferred
-Lean Six Sigma Greenbelt required
-Cross functional operations experience with a strong understanding of various plant functions.
-Strong leadership, communication, facilitation and interpersonal skills.
-Ability to influence and drive change
-Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate with various levels and functions within the organization, listening, facilitation, and conflict resolution skills; ability to drive consensus.
-Ability to interpret and adjust to situations that involve conflicting goals and priorities.
-Strong attention to detail; Excellent analytical skills.
-SAP experience preferred.
Working Conditions
Manufacturing environment with less than 15% travel.

The Role

RESPONSIBLE TO :
Director, Organization & Management
 
BASIC FUNCTION:
Plans, organizes, and manages the activities of the section of Operations Research. Provides professional support and counsel on issues related to high productivity and optimal resource deployment through expertise in staffing studies, operations research, systems analysis and design, cost containment/reduction initiatives, and development of reliable, efficient and effective processes and methods.
 
PRINCIPAL DUTIES:
Plans, organizes, and manages the activities of the Operations Research Section.
Directs section staff in research, analysis and design of hospital staffing blueprint, systems, methods, and operations. Provides guidance in the development and design of new work methods, systems, and procedures.
Supervises the design and implementation of approved measures to improve the Hospital's integrated systems of staff, material, information, space, equipment and energy.

Supervises the review of Hospital-wide programs or services and develops recommendations and prepares presentations supporting executive-level decisions relative to improving the efficiency and effectiveness of the Hospital's operations.
Directs work analyses and measurement studies, and validates recommendations on the need for, and utilization of, personnel.
Coordinates with Hospital management staff the installation of management report systems, to support sound methods and procedures and maximize administrative and managerial control.
Supervises evaluation and monitoring of capital investments in equipment and facilities, and validates analyses of such investments in terms of space and resource utilization.
Prepares schedules, coordinates projects and assignments of the section. Prepares section budgets, monitors records and expenditures and submits reports.
Participates in the recruitment process of applicants in O&M, as required. Orients new staff to section activities.
Supervises section staff. Provides leadership, training and education to subordinates. Evaluates performance of subordinates.
Attends meetings of assigned committees.
Maintains an effective flow of information to, and coordinates with the Director and section supervisors.
Maintains knowledge on current trends in specialty and makes recommendations for continuous improvement.
Lends technical experience and support in specialty to all sections within O&M and to other areas within the Hospital as required.
Plans and determines the contents of the O&M Homepage pertinent to Operations Research Section.
Monitors adherence of section staff to Internal Policies and/or Procedures (IPPs) applicable to Section. Supervises development of IPPs for the section.
Follows all Hospital related policies and procedures.
Performs other related duties as assigned. 
Requirements

EDUCATION:
PhD, Master's, or Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Engineering, Management Engineering, or management Industrial Engineering required.
EXPERIENCE & OTHER QUALIFICATIONS'
Minimum five (5) years with PhD, eight (8) years with Master's degree, or eleven (11) years with Bachelor's degree of professional experience, with at least three (3) years in a senior or supervisory position, in operations research and/or analytical studies of staffing, methods, systems and procedures, and in similar duties and functions of this job, in a hospital setting or a large public organization required.

• The Country Industrial Engineering (IE) Manager is responsible for monitoring operations within a specific network. This position coordinates planning and identifies resource (e.g. tools and resources etc.) needs. Provides recommendations for process and network changes to optimize profitability.
• The Country Industrial Engineering (IE) Manager supports EIRAD UPS Saudi Arabia operations by developing, implementing, and monitoring engineering processes and procedures to achieve business results. He/She ensures service levels, analyzes current practices, and aligns operations with company objectives. This position provides engineering policy and procedure support to senior management.
Principle Accountability
• Conducts policy and procedure training sessions with assigned personnel to help 7 improve service levels.
• Collaborates cross-functional support in resolving service issues (e.g., customs procedures, etc.) to drive business results.
• Serves as a liaison for operations to ensure EIRAD UPS Saudi Arabia’s goals and objectives are met.
• Conducts root cause analyses to pinpoint problem areas in current operational processes.
• Analyzes current processes and procedures to determine areas for improvement.
• Identifies current deficiencies to determine process improvement efforts.
• Develops process alternatives to streamline process activities and reduce costs.
• Reviews international operations through International Balanced Scorecard (IBSC) metrics to set direction and expectations.
• Gathers input from regions to establish IBSC elements (e.g., profits, service objectives, people development, etc.).
• Analyzes trends (e.g., profit projections, etc.) to determine improvement areas and raise expectations where appropriate.
• Provides oversight to regions to ensure IBSC results are monitored.
• Prepares reports to inform senior management of Industrial Engineering's impact on EIRAD UPS Saudi Arabia goals, objectives, and volume and revenue performance.
• Conducts operational analyses for management to provide information on International Engineering initiatives.
•Serves as a liaison with district engineering managers to establish and maintain relationships and appropriate lines of communication.
