Join us on our Refocus and Reimagine journey as we shape the future of our products and how they are manufactured in our global manufacturing facilities. The role will be within the Global Manufacturing Engineering team with a focus on Trim & Final operations, covering a vast scope from initial target setting, best in class and competitor analysis through to virtual development of the vehicle and finally into launch.


 


There are two distinct Industrial Engineering roles being recruited for as part of a wider Trim & Final Manufacturing Engineering campaign, as described below. Although distinct, the candidate profile, required skills and necessary experience are broadly the same.


 


Industrial Engineer – Off Cycle


Responsible for generating the Best In Class Operational Expenditure (OpEx) targets for Trim & Final process BMV (Basic Minute Value) by both internal and external benchmarking.

This role will work alongside the process standards team to drive DFA (Design for Assembly) into our manufacturing processes and product requirements early in the design phase of product creation or future technology. Lean principles for manufacturing will also be required to help shape Facility, Equipment and Assembly Aid standards.

 


Industrial Engineer – On Cycle


Responsible for all Manufacturing Industrial Engineering activities within Trim & Final Assembly on both new vehicle and model year programmes, working in a Transverse team alongside the Product Agile Squads.

This role will provide Industrial Engineering support to design, develop and implement manufacturing production processes and associated equipment to enable successful launch of new products into the designated facility within their Operational Expenditure (OpEx) targets for Hours Per Unit (HPU).

Essential:


Experience of assembly operations within manufacturing

Thorough understanding of lean manufacturing and Design for Assembly principles

Industrial Engineering experience with associated tools and techniques

A continuous improvement mindset

Data analysis and presentation skills

Flexible approach to job responsibilities, work location and working hours

Ability to work in a fast moving/changing environment

 


Desirable:


Ideally educated to degree level in Manufacturing or a similar engineering discipline

MOST Work measurement method

Experience of using 3D Simulation/CAD Viewing software

Competitor benchmarking experience

Knowledge of and involvement in the product development phase

Experience of working in an Agile organisation

Project management experience
