In this role, you have the opportunity to
Provide operational support in their Manufacturing Area relating to the Business Unit Goals and Objectives. This includes driving continuous improvement activities in the areas of Safety, Quality & Compliance, On Time Delivery, and Product Cost.
You are responsible for
Ensures robust production process capability and control, including process specification documentation.
Lead process tooling development to optimize error proofing and safe and efficient labor application.
Initiate, facilitate, and sustaining support for continuous improvement activities (Kaizen events) in the assigned area of subject matter expertise.
Provide technical support for the manufacturing area in the execution of world class operational performance.
Lead and/or support Structured Problem Solving to remedy deviations to short interval control (Daily Management) expectations.
Responsible for area Technical Product (Standard Work) documents.
Collaborate with EH&S, Design, Quality and Operations colleagues to ensure effective Design transfer to production.
To succeed in this role, you should have the following skills and experience:
Bachelor’s degree in applicable Engineering discipline, and/or demonstrated progressive experience in one or more of the abovementioned specific subject matter applications.
Green Belt Certified or practical application of Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma.
Exceptional interpersonal skills and an effective communicator.
Possesses a strong working knowledge of manufacturing, including the underlying theories and concepts of manufacturing, quality and product engineering.
Knowledgeable of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma and APQP concept application.
Broad understanding of business systems, organizational culture and behaviors.
Working knowledge of environmental, health, safety and quality regulations.
Specific expertise in one or more of the following:
Manual and semi-automated fabricated & welded assemblies
Electro-Mechanical assemblies including winding and wiring
High vacuum and cryogenic processes

The Position
We are seeking an Product/Industrial Engineer to be responsible for identifying, developing, and implementing, improvements to manufacturing processes in support of existing products and processes, as well as, new products and processes, while maintaining proper functionality and managing cost efficiencies. You will be primarily focused on process flow and material flow, labor balancing, and ergonomics with an additional focus on developing and implementing capital projects to improve processes, efficiencies, and productivity. You will utilize standard practices and tools to increase efficiency, reduce labor costs and improve overall safety performance. This role will report to the Engineering Manager.
The Location
We are located at 51 Scarborough Lane, Milford, NH. This position is onsite. Please note that we are taking precautions on COVID-19 based on the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) recommendations as well as state and local guidance.
Who We Are Looking For
We are looking for someone who has 3+ years of engineering experience in a manufacturing setting. Experience with DMAIC, PFMEA, Value Stream Mapping, 8D, and Process Mapping is required as well as experience with capital projects. You should also be familiar with 2D and 3D CAD, preferably SolidWorks or AutoCAD. While we do not require a Six Sigma certification, it is highly desired. You should also have a Bachelors in Industrial Engineering or a closely related field.
Additional Job Details
Design/modify work centers to reduce material movement and maximize overall productivity
Provide improved material handling/dispensing methods to reduce labor content and minimize poor body mechanics
Utilize time & motion study tools to establish required staffing requirements and a balance of workload across all positions in a work cell
Establish standard work for each operator position by SKU or product family, documented in such a way to easily be used to train a diverse production staff
Work closely with mechanical and automation engineers to identify & develop automated solutions.
Manage the product costing process to ensure that all new and current products are costed accurately
Be the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for product structure (i.e., bills of material and manufacturing routings)
Developing requirements and specifications for new equipment to improve productivity
Scoping, managing, and implementing capital projects to modify or add equipment in process lines or facilities
Collecting and evaluating bids and awarding and managing contracts as part of project management
Coordinating project implementation with the production schedule and internal and external resources
Requirements
Required Qualifications:
Bachelors’ degree in Industrial Engineering or closely related field
3+ years of engineering experience in a high volume manufacturing environment
Experience with DMAIC, PFMEA, Value Stream Mapping, 8D, and Process Mapping
Capital project management and implementation
Preferred Qualifications:
Certified Six Sigma Black Belt
2D and 3D CAD (i.e. AutoCAD and SolidWorks)
Automation and robotics
Candle industry experience
Strong communication, leadership, presentation, and interpersonal skills
Demonstrated successful performance with independent and team problem solving, presentations, leadership, and coordinating and completing multiple tasks within and across departments to meet changing deadlines
